Despite maintaining the basic structure of the original, the Korean version of Money Heist is set in the future when North and South Korea are on the verge of reunification. The border between the two countries becomes a joint economic area, and the Unified Mint (JEA) becomes the target of a criminal gang.
The heist crew consists of 8 individuals, each with a unique personality and story, yet they share the same plan – to steal 4,000 billion won from the mint. They disguise themselves in red uniforms, wearing white masks, capturing both the factory workers and a group of visiting students as hostages. However, the process of robbing the mint is far from smooth. Numerous issues arise as the gang carries out this mission, including emotions, loyalty, and personal stances. As a result, the audience undergoes a rollercoaster of emotions, from breathlessness due to suspenseful moments to mind-bending surprises caused by unexpected twists.
